visitors from NYC...

We had a wonderful visit this past weekend with Aunt Debbie and Tate from New York City!  It has been years since we have seen each other and it was good for the soul for all of us to see each other in person.  I hope this is just the beginning of lots of visits both ways!

valentine's...

Marley has been looking forward to her annual Valentine's scavenger hunt for weeks!  I love that something so simple, and that doesn't even change year to year makes her so happy!  This year was a great year for the whole Cain family on Valentine's!  We are ALL loved immensely!

waco weekender...

Marley got to attend her first Waco Weekender this year with our church, Harris Creek!  This was a weekend where they focused on their walk with their faith and talked about NOT following your emotions, but following God's word.  I am so glad her bestie Ellie was able to go with her and I'm pretty sure they had a blast!

last daddy-daughter dance...

My heart is broken that this year was Marley and Adam's last daddy-daughter dance, but I know that the memories and dates will just continue in a new way.

This year they got to go with Brice Kate and Randall.  They enjoyed dinner together at BJ's and then danced the night away!

I cannot wait to see how they continue this tradition next year!

marleyisms...

We most certainly can't finish out 2024 without a recap of this year's "Marleyisms".  She never fails us...

Marley (as 20/20 is coming on tv): “Ugh I cannot watch 20/20! They’re so outdated they can’t even update their name to 2024…”

Marley: “Why was Mrs. Bill walking with a noise box?”
Me: “That would be a Walkman Marley.”

As Marley is going on and on about Taylor Swift…
Grammy Carol: “Have you watched more football this year?”
Marley: “Yep! I even know when they make a homerun!”
As she throws her hands in the air…

Tonight we were driving along the Brazos looking how high the water was. A man goes running by and Marley says, “Wow either that guys really sweaty, or he’s got a shiny finish.”

Marley: “At least in Lake Murvaul THEY don’t have crocodiles.”
ME: “You mean alligators.”
Marley: “Well they’re the same thing. Alligators are just girls and crocodiles are boys.”
Me: “Nope. That’s not accurate.”
Marley: “Yes it is! That’s why they’re called alGALigators.”

Me: “Hey Marley will you go get me some more coke please?”
Marley (after going to refill my drink): “I’m so confused. They had Diet Coke and Coca-Cola so I just got you Coca-Cola. I couldn’t find just the Coke.”

christmas...

Christmas is a time of so much fun with family and friends and this year was no different.  We enjoyed time with both of our family's and are so thankful for the time we all had together.  This year I'm pretty sure Adam and I were more excited about Marley opening her gifts than she was!  She had not asked for much and we thought we had totally knocked it out of the park on surprising her with gifts this year.  I we sure had!  She got the Uggs she had been asking for since last year, legos, a "wickit, wickit", curling iron and other fun things.  Perhaps the best two kept secrets were the tickets to a Forrest Frank concert with her 2 besties in May and a phone!  She was absolutely shocked by the phone!  Literal tears of joy!

I just love her and our little family!
