charlie turns one...

To say this has been a crazy two weeks would be an understatement, but I can't leave out our sweet Charlie's 1st birthday!  Charlie turned 1 on February 10th!  We have so enjoyed having her as part of our little family.  As Marley says, "I asked for a 2-legged sister, but got a 4-legged sister."
Of course we had to celebrate big, so Marley and I went to the doggy bakery and picked out some special treats to celebrate.
Charlie Rose we love you!

valentine's...

Every year we have done a scavenger hunt for Marley for Valentine's Day and this year was no different.  Adam wasn't home, but we still had fun.  Friday morning before school Marley did her scavenger hunt and then got to enjoy her Valentine's party at school.  That evening Lauren and Randall invited us over for heart-shaped pizza and family fun.
I wouldn't wanted to spend it any other way!

Best Valentine's Box EVER!

Marley's bestie Joshua gave her a sweet treat & a stuffed bear even though they aren't in the same class this year.

risd coronation...

We've learned quite a few things moving to a small town and one of those is that traditions are BIG, and they begin early!  Robinson ISD has an event every year called "Coronation" that is a fundraiser for the Robinson Education Foundation.  Each year students vote on a boy and girl to represent each grade level as the "Duke" and "Duchess".  Those students are then charged with raising money as representatives of their class for the Education Foundation.  As a recipient myself this year of a $3,500 grant I know how important this task is.  The Duke and Duchess at each school that raises the most money is crowned "Prince" and "Princess" and then the overall winner for the district is crowned "Queen" and "King".  Although, Marley and her Duke, Knox, did not win she had a blast, raised a lot of money and enjoyed every minute of it.
Last Saturday was coronation, the culmination of about 3 months of hard work.  Marley loved getting all glammed up and having family and friends come to see her.  We were so glad to have Ms. Rhonda, Mariah, Avery, Erin and Elijah come from Dallas to see her!  Ms. Rhonda helped us raise Marley to be the beautifully smart, sassy young lady she has become from 12 weeks old until we moved from Dallas and she will forever be a part of our family and hopefully a part of all the big events in Marley's life.
As I told Adam, I'm afraid this has just begun!
Practice for coronation.
