A Very Merry Christmas

This Christmas was very bitter sweet.  It is weird to think that this is our last Christmas without a child.  Although…you would NEVER know there wasn’t already a baby here!  How can someone who isn’t even here yet get more than we did?!  It was almost comical, and I’m sure a sign of things to come.
Of course Adam and I couldn’t wait until Christmas to exchange gifts so somewhere around the first week of December we gave each other our gifts.  After 8 long years I finally received….my KITCHENAID MIXER!
We spent Christmas Eve with my family.  Someone in our family definitely wants another Baylor Bear!  It was funny the amount of Baylor stuff considering neither of us graduated from there!
On Christmas morning we got up early and drove to east Texas to see Adam’s family.  Again we received a ton of baby stuff.  (Don’t get me wrong…I’m not complaining!)  His grandmother even bought our stroller and car seat!  We are so excited!
Then to top it off we drove home in a wintery wonderland!  It sure made the long drive a lot more beautiful!
We can’t wait to see what the next Christmas has to hold.

A sign of things to come...

So let me set this straight.  We have bought nothing…I mean NOTHING for this baby yet.  But my mother-in-law bought us a really cute Pack-N-Play on Black Friday.  It’s been sitting in the room that will be our nursery since then, and we decided that maybe we should at least put it together to make sure it had all the parts.  (Our luck we’d wait 6 months and then it would be missing the whole bottom or something!)
Well, let’s just say that if you’re planning on having a child anytime in the next few years you should run out right now, buy your Pack-N-Play and begin putting it together!  Our intention was to put this together quickly (HA!) and then just pack it back up.
We definitely had fun and laughed a lot, but if this thing was truly meant to be able to pack up and take with you…then it would have to be easier to put together!  First, the directions were in 4 different languages and it took me a good 5 minutes to find English.  Then, they aren’t very clear so nearly everything we did…3 steps later had to be reversed.  (Sammy finally gave up on us and went back to the living room!)  Adam then found the storage thing that clips on the side to hold diapers, wipes, etc and asked, “What’s this, my drink holder?”
Oh, geez!  If this is a sign of things to come, we better get everything else that needs to be put together ASAP!
The final product!
