rhs celebration of stars 2026...

 I was so honored to be picked by Derrick Medlock for the RHS 2026 Celebration of Stars!  The top 25 seniors choose a teacher that has made the biggest impact on them.  A few weeks ago we got the big reveal, and to say I was shocked is an understatement!  That class was so full of amazing students, so I had no idea who it could possibly be!  I was thrilled that it was Derrick!  Derrick has an amazing future ahead of him and I could not be more excited to have a front row seat to it!  Thank you, Derrick, for such an amazing honor I don't take lightly!

 Sweet Cory!  This young man has had a piece of my heart since 2007, when he sat in my class as a 3rd grader.  He was rambunctious, naughty and ALL boy!  But he loved fiercely and craved love back.  His life hasn't been easy.  Raised by his amazing grandparents, he definitely gave them a run for their money.  He was that student that has always been on my mind and I've been here cheering him on from a distance for years!  We've kept in touch through many moves and big family changes.  He's driven from Kansas to meet me in Waco for lunch and I look forward to our monthly texts and updates on his sweet Caia.

When I was invited to his wedding, I knew I wouldn't miss it!  Marley and I made a weekend trip down past Houston for this absolutely stunningly beautiful wedding!  To end it with the surprise of Baby Cahill #2 was just wonderful!  I am here for many more years of happiness for this sweet family!

 We could not be more proud of Marley for working so hard for something she really wanted.  Her first year of junior track has not been easy!  She worked so very hard, showing up at every practice, not week after week not make a meet.  She did not give up!  She channeled her sadness/anger in hard work and finally made a meet!  She ran the 2400 and did great!  We hope that she continues to use that perseverance to show the world who she really is!

good friday and easter sunday...

 One of our favorite weekends at Harris Creek is Easter weekend!  We love the Good Friday service for how it makes us remember the sacrifice of Jesus and then the rejoicing Sunday because He is indeed RISEN!

We got to enjoy Easter Sunday at church with the whole family!  Then we spent the afternoon eating good food, hunting eggs and lots of laughter!
