tornado time...

What do you do when there's a tornado in Texas...1st go outside and look at the sky, then don your bicycle helmet of course!

All kidding aside, of course the most recent tornado warning came when Adam was out of town.  Fortunately, we knew a few days in advance there was potential so we had a heads up.  Since our tornado shelter under the stairs also doubles as our pantry, Marley and I had some work to do.  We figured we should put the canned goods off the shelf and out in the hallway.  (Nobody wants to survive a tornado only to be taken out by a can of peas!)

When the time came to actually take cover I told Marley to go put on some shoes and she came back with shoes...and her bicycle helmet.  I about doubled over laughing, but then again, she was probably the smart one.  Charlie took some serious convincing to join us, and by convincing I mean dragging into the pantry.  After about 30 minutes in the pantry Marley decided we might as well snack while we were in there...whatever entertains you girlie!

We were luckily not in the path of the tornado, but others weren't so lucky not far from us.  We are so thankful to God that nobody was seriously injured and we were safe and sound.

one big happy family...

My brother Matt and his family live in San Jose, CA and we haven't seen them in 8 years!  They finally came back to Texas last week and it was so wonderful to get to spend time with them!  Obviously Marley did not remember any of them so it was great for her to get to know her cousins.  Matt, Natascha, Sophia, Sammy, Francisco and Isaac all got to help us celebrates dad's 69th birthday too while they were here.  I wish Adam had been in town, but it was still great to visit with family over several days.  Marley immediately bonded with Sophia, which didn't surprise me at all.  I could only hope she grows up to be as mature and caring as Sophia.  It was fun to have the "trio" Marley, Madrid and Isaac together since they were the 3 babies all born within a month of each other!

Memories with family all together are always the best!

walt disney world...

This Spring Break our family lived it up at Disney World!  We had the best time ever!  It truly is the most magical place on Earth. We were there from Sunday to Saturday and lived up every single minute!  We hit all 4 parks, including Disney Springs, walked 38 miles and Marley walked 109,654 steps!

We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort and absolutely loved it!

On Monday we went to Epcot, which honestly was one of our favorite parks.  They were having the flower festival and I honestly have never seen anything so beautiful.  Every where you turned there was another beautiful flower statue or topiary and the smells were just wonderful!

Needless to say Marley was wiped out day 1!

Tuesday was our first of 2 days at Magic Kingdom.  We absolutely loved it!  There's something so magical about walking down Main Street towards that castle!  We even got to have lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table in the top of the castle!  It was absolutely delicious and the view of the park from up there was phenomenal!

I even ran into 2 sweet boys I taught in 3rd grade!
Ben & Ethan

Wednesday was Animal Kingdom which was the one park that none of us had ever been to.  I can't even explain the beauty of Pandora.  It as absolutely breathtaking!  I'm pretty sure we would have all been happy just hanging out there all day long!

Thursday was Magic Kingdom Part 2!  We were able to make it to all the rides we didn't get to day 1 and even stay for the fireworks.  I have honestly never seen anything as amazing as that fireworks show.  How they could transform the castle into all the different princesses castles was just beautiful!

Friday was our last park day and we spent it at Hollywood Studios.  It was nice to finish our week out at a little slower pace and smaller park.  We missed out on Slinky Dog because it was not open, but we really enjoyed the Star Wars section!  Marley loved the Indiana Jones stunt show and I loved the funnel cake!

After Hollywood Studios we decided to have dinner at Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs before we ended our trip and walk around enjoying the beautiful weather one more time.

The end...😉
