Marley is always making sure she keeps us on our toes and busy and she outdid herself this past Friday. Not only did she have the district UIL meet, but she also had 8th grade cheer tryouts.
And in true Marley fashion, she knocked them both out of the park! She came away with 2nd place in UIL Oral Reading and made the 8th grade cheer squad! We are so proud of her commitment and dedication to always doing her very best!

Every year for Valentine's Day, I put together a simple scavenger hunt for Marley. This year she told me it is her favorite thing we do all year and she looks forward to it every year! Sometimes as a mom, we don't realize that the simplest things are truly what our children will remember. It makes my hurt burst knowing that she still, at almost 13, looks forward to our silly little scavenger hunt every year.
This year Adam was at work, so Marley and I got to spend the day together not only doing our annual scavenger hunt, but we went to see the Harlem Globetrotters! We watch them on Saturday mornings on the tv, but she has never been in person so this was one of her scavenger hunt "gifts". We had the best time with Grammy and Pops and Marley even said, "If all basketball was like this, I'd actually watch it!"
