This past weekend we were able to go to East Texas and visit with Adam's family.  We had so much fun.  We spent one night with Pawpaw Kraig and Grammy Carol.  Marley had a blast riding the bike that Pawpaw Kraig found for her, playing with chalk from Grammy, chasing Peanut and playing in her cardboard castle!

Then we got to spend a night with Gran and Pappa Latham.  This was our first weekend to see their new lake house!  It was beautiful!  Marley loved waving at the boats, running down to the pier, eating Cheetoh's with Aunt Tracie and Emma and riding her horsey!
We can't wait to go back this summer and play in the lake!

Spring Break 2015...

This was the first Spring Break since I've been married that I stayed home the entire time.  It was wonderful!  I don't normally get to spend my time off at my own house and it was so relaxing!
Mom and Lauren came down for 2 days and we went shopping and then on Wednesday Marley, Adam and I met one of my very best friends for lunch and let the kids play.  Marley had a blast!  I love seeing her around other kids.  She definitely never meets a stranger!

One night we decided to go get a cupcake from Dimples just for fun.  Marley was so excited and was hollering, "cupcakes!" all the way there!  We got our cupcakes and then the minute we sat down and tried to give her a bite and she gave a very adamant, "No!"  She would not take a bite...at all!  What a weirdo!
On Saturday Adam and I had a wedding reception to attend so Marley spent the night with Grammy and Pops.  Aunt Lauren and Grammy took Marley to the Mayborn Museum in Waco and she loved it.  Of course she had to do a little shopping in the museum gift shop and came out with 2 books and a donkey.  Yep...I said donkey!
Overall we had a great week and I can't wait until next year's Spring Break!

snow days...

In the past week we have had 3 snow days.  They were  Marley's first snow days that she could actually enjoy.  Unfortunately, Adam was out of town for all three, but we made the best of it.
Of course my child would just want to "wipe it".  She was so worried about her chair in the backyard that was completely covered in snow.  When the snow was coming down really hard she kept saying, "bubbles!"  Sure...whatever.
I bundled her up and wrapped her hands in plastic wrap (I don't know what made me think she would actually touch it!).  She didn't want to go back inside, but she by no means wanted to touch it.

Valentine's Day 2015...

Marley and I had a blast this Valentine's Day!  Adam was out of town for work so we just made it a day full of girl fun!
Valentine's FaceTime with daddy!
The weather was beautiful so we ran a bunch of errands and did a little shopping Saturday morning.
Then for dinner we met up with my friend Denise are her son Kasen for a little double date at Rudy's.  It was nice to have someone to eat with.
After dinner we had been invited by a former student to see her in the play Shrek.  Marley LOVED it!  She was completely mesmerized, but unfortunately she is a little out spoken.  She was yelling, "Hi!" to all the actors on stage and, "I see you!"  "Oh, princesses!"  "It's so funny!"  Then she enjoyed singing along with the actors...unfortunately her version of the song went on a little longer than theirs!
Sweet Isabella in Shrek!

Oh, well...we had a blast and I'm pretty sure the people around us enjoyed the little side show!

Tetchup...

For about a month and a half Marley refused to eat dinner...at all...every night.  But we have finally found the answer to all our eating issues....Tetchup!  (aka ketchup)
Marley is obsessed with Tetchup!  We have it on everything!  Sometimes she dips all her food (including fruit and veggies) in her tetchup, other times she just finishes her food and then eats the tetchup but the spoonsful and other times she doesn't eat it at all but it must be on her plate for her to eat.  Whatever...
Recently we discovered that any type of "sauce" is tetchup....ranch, syrup, spaghetti sauce, etc.  I made blueberry pancakes one morning and she asked for tetchup.  I had to draw the line!  Normally we don't give her syrup, but to avoid an utter meltdown and put a dime size serving on her plate and she was completely satisfied with this new tetchup.
Today on the way to church Adam and I were whispering in the front seat about what I would make Marley for lunch (we have learned that if we don't have food ready and in hand then it's best she doesn't even here about it yet).  Here's a sample of our conversation...
Me:  "What should we fix Marley for lunch?"
Adam: "How about chicken strips?"
Me:  "Ok, sounds good."
Marley:  (shouting from the backseat) "And Tetchup!"

I have to say that Marley is at such a fun age!  She makes us crack up every day (and want to cry at times).  She is funny, outgoing and very opinionated!
