disneyland...

"The happiest place on Earth" was definitely that!  This year for Marley's 6th birthday we decide to take her to Disneyland.  We told her about 2 months ago and we've been counting down every since.  I'm not sure who was more excited! Ironically Marley has never flown before either so not only was it her first real vacation out of the state, but also her first flight, which in this family is a big deal!  We flew from Dallas Love to Orange County and Marley was a champ.  She actually could have cared less and didn't even notice on take off on the way home until we had been in the air about 15 minutes.  We spent the first day in downtown LA since it was Memorial Day and we figured Disney would be extra busy that day.  We went to LA Museum of Natural History and the Kids Science Museum which had the space shuttle Endeavor.  That was super neat!
Tuesday and Wednesday we went to Disneyland and California Adventure.  Marley was a trooper!  We walked over 6 miles each day and went from park open until after the fireworks show.  She loved the fast rides and even rode two smaller rollercoasters, but the Grizzly River Run sent her over the edge!  She was not a fan!  Adam and I both said it was worth every penny to see the shear joy on her face throughout the entire day.  We saw Mickey, Minnie, Chip (no Dale), Goofy and Donald the first 10 minutes in the park and she was bursting with excitement.  When we got to see Cinderella, Snow White, Anna and Elsa and Olaf and she just about wouldn't leave as she was carrying on full conversations about their shoes, what color of mermaid fin she would want and how cold the ice was for Olaf.  During the parade she began to hyperventilate trying to tell us about each character she saw coming on the next float.  I'm really not sure who was smiling bigger, Marley or Adam and I.  At one point we ran into Alice of Alice and Wonderland who told Marley to walk with her because she "was late for a very important date!"  Marley ran back to us to tell us how fast they had to walk so Alice wasn't late.  I truly felt it was the perfect time for us to go and live through Marley and her joy and belief in everything she saw.
On Thursday we headed to Laguna and Newport beach for the day to check it out.  Marley was sure she was going swimming in the ocean until she got a touch of the freezing water on her little toes.
I cannot wait to explore more with her and live all of it through her little eyes!
Ready for her first flight! DAL to SNA

6 years old...

Today was a big day of celebration in our house.  Marley turned 6 years old and celebrated her last day of Kindergarten!
I cannot believe that she is 6!  Everyone told us that when she started school time would fly by and they were so right!  Please slow down!
We were blessed to have a wonderful kindergarten teacher that nurtured Marley's love for school and embraced her spunky spirit.  She was so excited to get to celebrate with her friends and school today and then next stop...Disneyland!

mothers day...

This Mother's day was exactly as I would have loved...with both my loves. Adam got to be home so we spent the whole day together.  Marley had Muffins with Mom on Friday that I was so fortunate to get to sneak away to.  She made me the sweetest gifts (although I must say I'm pretty sure I've never called her "cupcake"...).
My one wish...to walk up and down every isle of Target...alone...with Starbucks was granted thanks to Adam!
They bought me some beautiful flowers and even took me to Ninfa's for dinner.  I am so blessed to be Marley's mom and feel like I'm the lucky one for sure!

field day x 2...

Yesterday was field day for Marley and I both, and I think it's fair to say we both had a blast!
At the Primary School Marley had a blast with inflatables, water slides, obstacle courses, sno cones and more!  Adam and I are so glad that Grammy was able to go with her as Adam was out of town.  The smile on this face is reason #997 why we love Robinson ISD!

Her bestie Joshua!

For my field day our class came up with the name "The Limas" to go with our lime green shirts.  We chanted our way all the way to Rocket Field.  I honestly think the walk from the Intermediate to the field was one of my favorite parts.  No one was complaining yet and they were truly all excited to be working as a group.  We had relays, soccer/frisbee and capture the flag (in which I may or may not have snuck into) and of course sno cones.
I am going to miss these sweet kiddos and I loved getting this day with them of fun!
