kalahari spring break...

 For Spring Break this year we decided to surprise Marley.  Since we had to wait on Adam's training schedule to even see if he would be home, we decided to plan a last minute trip to Kalahari Resort in Round Rock.  None of us had ever been, but lots of Marley's friends had and she had mentioned wanting to check it out.  We packed up and told Marley that we were just going to go to Austin for a few days and find something to do.  As long as we could promise her a hotel with a pool, she was in! She had no idea until we were literally pulling into the parking lot.  We all ended up having an absolute blast!  The hotel is beautiful and we had plenty to do the entire time!  The pools were amazing (inside and outside), the food was great and the rides and arcade games were fun for us all!  Adam and Marley went down every slide they had!  (I even braved 2 of them!). Marley tried the surfing and was a complete natural!  We all had a blast in the Mirror Maze, Laser Tag, Mini Golf, 5D ride, ropes course, rollercoasters and the many arcade games and I'm pretty sure Marley lived on the free icee the entire week!

We will definitely be back!

 Right before Spring Break, Marley was recognized at the RISD UIL Banquet.  She participated in both the Writing event and the Oral Reading event this year.  We are so proud of all of her hard work and tenacity to try new things.

 I told you February has been crazy around here...

February 8, 2023 Adam was selected to upgrade with NetJets as a Captain.  I am beyond proud of him!  He has worked so very hard to achieve this dream and has literally worked every job to get there from cleaning the airport at night to flying double traffic shifts in Dallas.

Marley and I are beyond proud to watch you live out your dream!

valentine's day...

 Life has been crazy busy, so I'm a little behind. We were so lucky to have Adam home this year for Valentine's Day!  Every year Marley looks forward to her annual scavenger hunt with gifts around the house.  (I love that the scavenger hunt is the exact same every year and yet she is so excited and acts so surprised.). Adam got us both beautiful roses and took us to dinner as well.  We are so lucky that he shows us how much he loves us everyday, so Valentine's is just extra sprinkles on top!

daddy-daughter dance...

 I love that we get to start 2023 with the daddy-daughter dance!  Every year Adam takes Marley to the RISD Daddy-Daughter Dance with all of her best friends.  As always, they went with Abbie Hockaday, Halle Hughes, Addie & Everlee McCall and their dads.  They took them to Los Cucos for dinner and then danced the night away!  I love this tradition and the time they get to spend together!
