Having a late December birthday, I have never been in school on my birthday. This year I was blown away and totally surprised when the sweet Jensen family showed up to my classroom with a beautifully delicious cake and balloons! I am so grateful for students and their families that then become dear friends for life!

dallas arboretum field trip...
I know my days of chaperoning field trips for Marley are pretty much over, so I jumped on the opportunity to go on this one. We LOVED going to the Dallas Arboretum when we lived in Dallas, so I knew this would be fun. Not only did I get to spend time with Marley, but all the sweet kiddos I taught last year. I hope this is just another addition to great memories for Marley!
the nutcracker...
I have great memories of my parents taking me to the Waco Symphony Orchestra's The Nutcracker and I have always wanted to take Marley. This year was the year! Not only were we able to go, but Marley's bestie, Ellie, was actually dancing in the production! We had the best mom and daughter date and it was made extra special by enjoying it with the Messerall's!
1st annual gingerbread party...
Marley has the sweetest group of friends and this year she wanted to host a gingerbread decorating, ornament exchanging and Christmas light strolling party. Marley did such a great job decorating the house and setting everything up. I'm pretty sure Ellie and Lily had a great time. They decorated gingerbread houses, exchanged ornaments, made cocoa and we went to check out Christmas lights around town. I hope this is the first of many gingerbread parties to come!
