Kindergarten round-up...how is this already happening?
Last week we went to Waco to go to Marley's kinder round-up at Robinson Primary. We had no idea what to expect...from round-up, or Marley!
Let's just say she didn't disappoint! The minute we got out of the car in the parking lot Adam and I knew we had made the right decision in bringing her back to a small town school. We could hear the high school band playing in the parking lot to greet the kids, the cheerleaders where greeting each child and hot dogs were on the grill. Of course in true Marley fashion she had to talk to the cheerleaders and tell them how pretty they were and how she "loved" their hair! We proceeded to find our spot in the mile-long line to complete our paperwork. The principal, Ms. Zacharias greeted each family as we waited and then one of the kinder teachers came to meet Marley and take her for assessments. Of course as a mommy and a teacher it was killing me to not be able to hear what was being said and asked. They went over letters, sounds, colors, shapes, numbers and then had her write her name. When they brought her back she said she had done great!
As we were leaving we saw the principal speaking to some other families...of course Marley took it upon herself to interrupt, "Excuse me...I can't wait to visit you in the principal's office even if it is because I'm in trouble."
Obviously Adam and I were dying, and the principal, trying not to laugh, told her that she couldn't wait to see her too, but not because she was in trouble.
Let's just all take a moment and pray for her future teachers...and for us for that matter...
